Project Goal
To redesign ANZ’s intranet to improve content discoverability and reduce content management overhead, creating a streamlined, user-friendly platform for employees worldwide.
Challenge
ANZ’s existing intranet was outdated and complex, making it challenging for employees to locate the information they needed quickly. This led to inefficiencies and frustration across the organization, highlighting the need for a simplified and intuitive information architecture.
Approach
Leading the research and design alongside a content design team, I conducted interviews with ANZ employees across global locations to understand their information search habits and requirements. By mapping their needs and behaviors, we identified key opportunities to restructure the intranet around content objects. We introduced connected, themed, and tagged content to prioritize search effectiveness and reduce the need for intensive content governance, ensuring a sustainable and scalable solution.
Outcome
The redesigned intranet significantly improved content discoverability for employees, allowing them to access relevant information more efficiently. This new structure also minimized content management efforts, reducing long-term maintenance and creating a more intuitive, user-focused platform for ANZ’s global workforce.
